“Did you get your books?” Audra, my book agent, was excited. I could hear it in her voice.

“No, are they here?” I was excited myself. I’d been waiting on baited breath to see my newest book baby.

“Yes, I checked the tracking number with UPS and they were delivered. They’re on your doorstep now!”

“OMG!!! I’ll call you back as soon as I get home!”

I got home, and there they were, in a box on my doorstep. The book stork had dropped off my newest creation!

I was beyond thrilled. I jumped out of my car and raced to the front door, lugged the heavy box full of books inside and tore the box open. I didn’t care that my car was still running in the driveway.

There are no words to let you know how I felt the moment I opened that box, and saw her for the first time, my newest book baby. She was absolutely beautiful. I picked her up and, through my elation, relief, tears and overwhelming joy, I held her in my hands for the very first time.

God is good.

I wrote this book for the latter group –for the folks who are hurting. I know what it’s like to hurt, to look for love outside of oneself and not find it. This book is intended to be a healing balm. After years of work, and what feels like blood, sweat and tears poured out, she’s here.

This book proved to me that God is in love with me, and I’d do well to remember that. When I forget, life gets hard, unnecessarily, and I create muck and mayhem for myself and the people around me. I’m learning that I can live without unnecessary process, in joy, creating heaven on earth.

It can be done.

The kind of love that doesn’t have buts, or what-if’s, or as soon as they get their act together, then I can…

None of that.

I’m talking about pure, clean, unadulterated love that is a wellspring of unending good. You know what I’m talking about. You’ve had moments and glimpses of it, we all have.

It’s the feeling that rushes through mommy and daddy right after the birth, as they stare in awe, wonder and amazement at this totally new being that just entered the world. How could a hot night turn into this? (My mind cannot even wrap itself around the answer.)

It’s the feeling of pure and open vulnerability, the heart wide open effect.

Or maybe you had a moment like that when you got your first puppy.

Or maybe when you first felt the scratchy lick from your kitty across your skin.

Or when you were on the beach somewhere, like Maui, where the sunset stills everyone and actually steals the breath away, and you caught a glimpse of God. You knew about unconditional love, openness and infinity in that moment.

The beauty of it all is, we can choose to live in a state of perpetual bliss. Heaven right here on earth, right now.

The path to bliss is the answer I heard when I asked Spirit what my path was:

Love everyone, all the time, regardless of what they do.

Right. While the human me was busy trying to think of 59 reasons why I couldn’t follow this simple directive, my Infinite Self knew that this was my path and immediately said Yes.

I’m committed to the practice of loving everyone, all the time, regardless of what they do.

It ain’t easy.

But then again, everything worthwhile requires work, and the fruits of the labor are oh so sweet. You can’t have a harvest without planting seed. Plant your seeds of unconditional love today.
