Today, I was having a conversation with someone who remarked to me that she had seen my work and expressed to me that I was an extraordinary woman.
While my mouth said “thank you”, her words landed on me in such a way that I had to mentally pause, take a breath, and consider if the statement was true for me.
Am I extraordinary?
I went to my journal after the conversation, as I often do, and while journaling, the answer came to me.
As it turns out, I’m not extraordinary at all.
I’m just a person who’s willing.
I’m willing to learn to listen to the voice of Spirit, sometimes by more unpleasant means than others, yet, I’m willing to listen, and I’m willing to at least try to do what it directs me to do.
And the reason that’s not extraordinary is because everyone has the same capacity for greatness. How much of our greatness moves from potential to reality is dependent upon how willing we are to heed the suggestions, hints, clues and guidance we get along the way.
I’m not so sure extraordinary is the word.
Perhaps I’m just awake, because, by the grace of God, some angel (or angels) came along and tapped me on the shoulder and reminded me of who I am and why I’m here, after which I chose to wake up.
The more I consider it, the more I see that I’m not extraordinary at all.
I’m simply awake more often than not (though I’m still prone to take naps) and I’m open to the voice of Spirit and I’m willing to do what’s asked of me.
Yes.
That’s it.
I’m awake, open and willing.
But definitely not extraordinary.

I talked to so to an extraodinary person TODAY – 3/14/09, her name is Valery Love! By google definition – beyond what is ordinary or usual; I would say someone who goes BEYOND THE USUAL definitely defines this individual. When she places her attention to you….you can feel the blessings, you can feel the light. You feel who is this complete stranger, that I can talk to that makes me feel, like I have known her all my life! She listens VERY CLOSELY to the words, how they are placed, why they are there, what does it mean, and how does it apply to YOU….how does it translate? POSITIVE GUIDED ATTENTION ENERGY!!! OUTSTANDING!! No! Am not in any of her programs, and NO she did not pay me to say these things, IN FACT, SHE HAS NO IDEA AM WRITING THEM….I say them, because, they are true….and, because, my life was truly enriched by a complete stranger! Valerie if you are not extraodinary then even the dictionary got it wrong, because, I felt someone go the extra mile to make certain I UNDERSTOOD, the energy that was coming into my life, to my knowledge nothing more has to happen to make it an extraodinary result! I believe that once you become aware, that makes you “extra-ordinary” thus extraordinary! I spoke with Val Love, and I believe that she is extraordinary. I may have even called her and said that to her
Never the less. One thing that she has taught me is to “receive” When someone offers to pay for your meal…it is ok to receive. When someone believes that you are “extra-ordinary” it is ok to remain humble, but accept the compliment. Much Love Darlene…like Cindi said, you have earned it!
Valerie, such a beautiful expression. Your humility is ever present. You and your lovely friend are correct love. It’s simple b/c you simply chose it. You are divinely Extra Special, Extraordinary, your choice/s makes it so. Accept it, Embrace It. After all you Chose It.
