Breakthrough is what happens when you’ve been working on an idea for a long time, seemingly getting nowhere, or moving at a snail’s pace, when all of a sudden, something happens that causes everything to come together in an instant.
It happened to me yesterday. For a long time, I’ve been holding the vision of marketing my book far and wide, particularly on radio and television. I wrote an intention about it at the end of last year, and began making strides toward its accomplishment.
For months, nothing happened.
Allow me to clarify that statement–nothing happened on the physical plane. Much was happening behind the scenes, in the invisible realm of thought, emotion and spiritual energy. I wasn’t sure of all that was going on, but the energy was building, this I knew.
Not long ago, I received an e-mail detailing information about a service for publicity which was designed especially for authors. I immediately followed my intuition and looked at the company website. As soon as I landed at the website, I knew it was for me. I could feel it. After looking around, I signed up for a risk-free 60 day trial of the publicity plan for authors: The Million Dollar Author Club.
Whether being in the club will help me to be a million dollar author or not is a moot point. What fascinated me was the blatant answer to my intention statement, which I had written months before. A big part of the publicity plan & The Million Dollar Author Club is getting booked as a guest on radio and television shows. It was as if the folks who created this plan were reading my intention statement and provided everything I’d asked for, and even provided some extra goodies I didn’t know to ask for back then.
In case you’re wondering, here’s my intention statement:
It is my intention to touch hearts, minds and lives
with the truth of our divine identity on a global scale
by using the mediums of television, radio and the internet
so I will more fully express my destiny as a
masterful and powerful teacher of spiritual law and principle.
And so it is!
Let me share with you why I find this whole thing so amazing.
A few days later, as promised, the first two packages arrived in the mail. I ripped the large envelopes open in an anticipatory haste and was delighted at the contents. I’ve been listening to the CD’s and reading the materials ever since. Those first two packages have already exceeded the value I thought I would get out of a whole year of club membership.
What’s even better, is that I received several resources and contacts in the media world to talk to, along with targeted information about what they look for in books and the authors who write them. The materials also outlined what guests are best suited for each show, along with detailed contact information for the producers of the shows and how they like to be contacted.
I thought to myself: Someone has gone before me and laid out all the information I need to take critical action. The only thing left was for me to act, which I did. I contacted producers for radio shows yesterday and will be contacting more today. I’ve been on the radio several times, and television as well, yet it seemed to happen by accident. It’s a blessing to now have everything laid out for me, enabling me to implement a marketing plan with no guesswork, no trying out what doesn’t work and wasting time, and no asking the right questions of the wrong people.
I save valuable time for myself and all parties involved when I go directly to those who want to book me as a guest. Besides that, I now know how to approach them to get optimal results.
How awesome is that?
I already smell the sweet success, with ease, efficiency and effectiveness. I’m celebrating because:
God is good. Today, I’m reminded of the amazing power of intention and its ability to focus energies only on what I desire and cut away all else.
